Overview:
Ciele Athletics is a performance head wear brand based out of Montreal. I wanted to do some exploratory design work and come up with a redesigned ecommerce experience that would evoke the utility and quality that their products bring to their end customers.
Ciele is a leader and innovator in unisex running headwear. Their products are simple, thoughtful and useful. With these design principles in mind, I created a UI that resembles the core of their brand. The components on the homepage are block-like, paying homage to the multi-panel and colour block construction of their headwear. Subtle hits of colour throughout the UI are also nods to the way their headwear is designed.

Product navigation:
Ciele offers headwear in a variety of styles that cater to different runners and terrains. As a result of this, users need to be able to shop by an entire category or by individual styles. To maximize the amount of space in a full screen desktop navigation, I designed a horizontally scrollable navigation that’s built to scale as the brand expands their product offering.

Product Detail:
As users naturally scan content from left to right, I lead with the actionable items on the left hand side of the screen. A user is able to quickly see if a product is in stock, adjust the quantity, and Add to Cart. On the right side of the screen, I’ve allowed for there to be organization and a hierarchy of content. In the centre, a user could scroll through product imagery while the content on the left and right parts of the screen stay fixed.
